# Inbound calls not arriving

> Diagnose why calls to a Get2Dial number don't ring anywhere, or don't show up in call records at all.

Someone calls one of your Get2Dial numbers and nothing happens — no ring, no voicemail, and
often nothing in [Call records](/reports/call-detail-records) at all.

## Quick checks

* Does the number's **Edge trust** show **Trusted** on the [Phone numbers](/voice/phone-numbers)
  page?
* Does a [routing rule](/inbound/route-an-inbound-number) exist for that exact number?

## Cause: the number isn't trusted for inbound calls

**How to check:** Go to **Phone numbers** and check the **Edge trust** column for the
number.
**How to fix:** Anything other than **Trusted** traces back to the number's carrier — confirm
it's **Active**, **Approved**, and configured for inbound traffic (not **Outbound only**).
See [Connect a SIP carrier](/voice/connect-a-carrier). This blocks the call before it ever
reaches routing, which is why nothing appears in call records.

## Cause: no routing rule matches the number

**How to check:** Go to **Routing rules** and check whether a rule's **DID** exactly matches
the number that was called, including the `+` and country code.
**How to fix:** Add a rule — see [Route an inbound number](/inbound/route-an-inbound-number).

## Cause: the rule points at a destination with nothing to answer

**How to check:** If the rule targets a queue or ring group, check whether it has any
members, and whether any of them are currently **Available**.
**How to fix:** Add members, or have an agent go available — see
[Agent states](/agent/agent-states). This is different from the call not arriving at all:
in this case, the call does show up in call records, only unanswered.
